2 Gossip Girl Inspired Outfits from Serena & Blair (Shopping Edition) ♡

Hey friends! It's Thea here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite (or into the boring life of a high school blogger). S and B (otherwise known as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf) are out shopping on 5th avenue when they see a not so friendly face (like their expression shows). Luckily they have bottomless trust funds and cute outfits on to make any sane person jealous (trust me, we all are!).

Me being an insider in all things S and B, I can let you in on how to steal their outfits but on a budget you can afford! Keep reading to learn how you can steal their style! Sorry S and B, your secrets are out in the open.

Serena's Outfit

Serena summer outfit 1
Hat / necklace / shirt / pants / belt / ring / shoes / bag

A typical Serena outfit that is 100% cute while also being super comfortable.  I love how you can pair these comfy sweatpant looking pants with a casual tank top and then spice it up with some cute accessories. I am all for Serena's style because she always looks so effortlessly put together. She's the kinda girl that can get the messy bun perfect on the first try (not me who tries 10 times and then decides to do a ponytail).

Blair's Outfit

Queen B always keeps her outfits sophisticated and chic. You can tell that she's the kinda girl who puts a lot of effort into her outfits and it definitely pays off! She always looks classy and girly, which she can afford to do. It's harder to pull off this kind of look when you don't have the budget for the diamonds and the sparkles, however it is still possible.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this Gossip Girl inspired blog post!

And who am I? That's another secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO.

*Bungalow 123 Dress Review & Try-On ♡

*This picture was taken from the Bungalow 123 website*

Bungalow 123 website // https://bungalow123.com

Hey everyone! I would like to thank Bungalow 123 because they were kind enough to send me the Shaw dress in Fuschia for me to write a review of. Bungalow 123 is based in Texas and sells clothing and accessories, as well as vintage home decor. I first stumbled upon this boutique on Pinterest and found that they sold extremely cute clothing and jewelry on their website. They also offer free domestic shipping, so all you readers living in the states are in luck! Continue reading to learn more about my thoughts and opinions on the Shaw dress and to see the dress modeled on me!

I was so excited when I saw this package in the mail! The dress came with a cute sticker attached to the package. I also got a sweet letter from them also which was super nice of them.

The Shaw dress is a t-shirt dress and is shorter on the sides and longer in the front and back. It comes in multiple different colors, but I think fuchsia is perfect for the summertime. It's such a fun, vibrant color that will make any tan pop! I received this dress in a size small, which is similar to a size 0-4. The dress measures 35" from shoulder to hem in the front and back and 31" on the sides.

This dress is super flowy, and the material is soft and comfortable. I love pairing this dress with wedges and wearing my black bralette from Urban Outfitters under it. One of my favorite things about this dress is the different length on the sides and the front and back, so your leg peeps out on the side. I think this lengthens your legs and makes you appear taller. I also really like how you can dress it up or down, depending on the look you are going for. This is a perfect summery dress and I can't wait to wear it out with my friends or out to dinner! It would also be a perfect dress to wear to work... I just got a job as a sales associate at a women's resale clothing store!

Life Update: Acai Bowls, Hanging out at a Park, New Haircut + More ♡

Hey guys! These past few weeks have been super busy. I haven't done a life update blog post in a long time, so I thought it was a good time to do one. I got my first summer job a few weeks ago at a women's resale clothing store. I love working there because the store is always super busy so I am never bored. It's also like I can shop while I'm working. Whenever the employees see something we like, we can put it in the back and buy it later on an employee discount. Last Thursday, June 16 I had the day off, so my friend and I decided to get acai bowls. We went to a food truck called Rico's Acai, which is located downtown. I got the rainbow bowl, and I love how it's aesthetically pleasing and also yummy. It's also super healthy and the fruit is always fresh and tasty.

After we got our acai bowls, we drove to Romare Bearden Park. We found a parking spot right near the park, but we had to parallel park. Unfortunately, neither my friend nor I knew how to parallel park so parking proved to be pretty tricky. What made matters worse was that we were parking right on a busy street. My friend was driving and she ended up backing in and out of the space about 50 times and wasn't really moving positions much at all. At one point I even got out of the car and tried to direct her into the space. We finally got into the space (10 minutes later). We brought my two dogs with us to the park which became a hassle because they kept pulling the leashes and barking at everyone. Above is a picture of my dog Robin.

This turned out to be one hilarious outing. My other dog, Ollie decided to pee on my friend's Birkenstock shoes right as we sat down on our blanket at the park.

Here is a picture of Ollie looking guilty for peeing in her shoes.

I ended up finishing my acai bowl. My friend's bowl melted a little bit and she decided not to finish it. Two dogs were walking past us and my dogs went berserk. Robin tried to run towards the other dogs and ended up knocking over my friend's acai bowl all over my blanket. The food also went all over my friend's phone, car keys and sunglasses.

It was definitely an interesting experience going to the park with my dogs, and I have come to the conclusion that I will not be taking my dogs anywhere public anytime soon.

List of things that got ruined by my dogs
-Birkenstocks (friend's)
-Blanket (mine)
-Car Keys (friend's)
-Sunglasses (friend's)
-Phone (friend's)

Overall, more of my friend's things got ruined than mine. We were able to clean everything which was lucky!

We also decided to bake cookies. This turned out to be sort of a disaster. We didn't have all of the ingredients and then the cookie dough we made ended up being way too powdery. The recipe we found didn't include any liquids other than butter and eggs. We added a few tablespoons of water to make it stick together. We also made the cookie dough balls too big so it took forever to bake. The outsides got extremely hard but the insides weren't ready to be taken out of the oven. The cookie turned out to be pretty good, except for the fact that you had to bit super hard on the outside.

I also got a haircut last Monday on June 13. I got about 4 inches cut off and my hair felt extremely lightweight after. Since I have layers in my hair, the pieces of hair by my face are shorter and the pieces in the back are longer. I usually don't like when I get a haircut because I like when my hair is really long. I do like my hair at this length though, because it doesn't get as tangly and frizzy.

Would You Rather Beauty TAG ♡

Hey everyone! I have decided to do the Would You Rather Beauty TAG. I researched some questions online and found a few different sets of questions. I combined two sets of questions that I found from tagsforeverybody.blogspot.com and frmheadtotoe.com. I am excited to answer these questions and do this tag for you guys! Let's just get started :)

Questions and Answers

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I would definitely rather lose all of my mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lipglosses. I don't tend to wear eyeshadows on a daily basis. I can't live without my mascara, because I think it adds so much to my face. It really makes my eyes pop more and adds definition and dimension. Mascara opens up my eyes which are normally on the smaller side. Eyeliner also makes my eyes pop more and draws attention to them. I don't wear lipsticks and lipglosses very often but I am starting to wear them a bit more.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I would rather chop off all my hair than never be able to cut it again. My hair grows pretty fast and if I never cut it, it would grow to the ground. I love having long hair, but when it's too long it gets super gross and nasty. It also would get pretty tangly and dried out. If I were to chop off all my hair, I could always get a wig made out of human hair so it looks real. Then I could get my hair to be my desired length at that moment.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I would rather have a coral cheek. I find that since I have tanner skin, coral makes my skin pop. I also think that coral looks better on warmer skin undertones and pink looks better on cooler skin undertones. Check the veins on your wrist to see what kind of undertones you have. Blue veins usually mean cool undertones and green veins mean warm undertones. Bluish-green undertones then mean neutral undertones.

4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

This is a real tough one. I think my answer would have to be clothes. You can usually find great makeup at the drugstore for pretty inexpensive. You can't always find good quality clothes at a cheap price. I probably spend less money on makeup than on clothes, so I think it would be worth it to use the money on clothes.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Eyeliner as lipstick! It's easier and looks the most normal. You can find pink and nude creamy eyeliners that can act just like lipliners! You can put the eyeliner in warm water for a few minutes to make it creamier and softer, so the product will glide right onto your lips.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Sephora of course! Sephora offers a wide range of brands and products. I've actually never tried a makeup product from MAC. If anyone has any suggestions for what my first MAC purchases should be, then leave a comment down below!

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

I don't wear eyeshadow or lipstick very often. When I do wear eyeshadow, I use more than one color. I tend to stick to a nude pink lip color every time I wear lipstick or lipgloss, so I would rather wear one lip color for the rest of my life.

8.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

I would give up my fave lip product because I couldn't live without my fave eye product... aka mascara!!

9.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

I'm not a huge fan of my hair in either of these styles but I'd have to say ponytail. Since I have pretty thick long hair, my head starts to hurt when it's all on top of my head in a bun.

10.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

Never use lipgloss. I'm not a huge fan of when my nails aren't painted. I feel like my life is more together when my nails are done and aren't chipped.

11.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

I would rather have none at all because I think sharpie-ing in eyebrows would add more attention to my brow-less face.

12.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Without nail polish. I love wearing makeup and doing it every day. I think it can change my your whole look. Nail polish is less noticeable.

13.) Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?

Messy hair and nice makeup because messy hair can look effortless and cute. Sometimes people spend hours making celebrities' hair look super messy.

16.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

Me without brows would not be a pretty picture. My natural eyelashes are already so short that it doesn't look like I really have any. I would want my eyelashes to fall out because I could always get eyelash extensions. Drawn in eyebrows doesn't look as great as lash extensions in my opinion.

18.) Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?

Lipgloss/lipliner look because that look is always in style.

19.) Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Overdone blush because I think that would be the easiest to fix with your hands. I would probably just try to wipe some off with my hands, whereas I wouldn't really be able to rub off my foundation.

21.) Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?

Weird tan lines that can't be covered. There's really not much that can be done about them, and I don't find them too embarrassing.

22.) Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

Bad haircut. I would probably just wear a hat all the time or always wear my hair in a ponytail.

24.) Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Makeup brushes because you can always use your hands. You could also use a makeup sponge like the Beauty Blender, which does wonders for your makeup.

5 Workout and Exercise Outfits ♡

Hey everyone! I've put together 5 different outfits that are perfect for running, yoga or any other workout. Now that summer has started there is more time for exercising. These outfits are super cute and light enough to workout in when it's hot outside. It's important not to wear heavy clothes while working out in the summer because you will sweat more. You will also become more exhausted and dehydrated. Trying to sweat more will not help you lose weight but will actually make you more thirsty. You need to make sure to wear appropriate clothes for the temperature outside. These outfits will make you look great as you workout while also keeping you cool and comfortable. Hopefully you guys find some outfit inspiration from these looks!

Clarisonic Brush Head Dupe + Review and Comparison ♡

Hey everyone! So today I decided to do another product review of a dupe or cheap alternative to the Clarisonic Mia brush heads. I am going to compare this alternative with the normal brush head that I received when I got my Clarisonic Mia 2. Usually the normal Clarisonic replacement brush heads cost $27 which is super expensive for a face brush that needs to be replaced every 3 months. I went on Amazon and bought replacement heads from a company called GreenInsync. I purchased the Cleansing 3 Pack and Deep Cleaning 2 Pack both for $12.98. Each brush individually only cost me $2.60 instead of the whopping $27 I would have spent at Clarisonic!

Links

Here is a picture of the new brush heads that I purchased versus my 1 year old Clarisonic one (obviously I was in need of new brush heads). The green brushes are for cleansing and the blue ones are for deep cleaning. The black/grey brush is just normal. The 2 brands of brushes were both similar in size. The GreenInsync brushes had softer bristles that were less dense. I don't think they do quite as good a job cleaning your face as the original Clarisonic ones because they are less dense, so they don't exfoliate quite as deeply or harshly. This would be good is you have sensitive skin.

The brush heads fit right onto my Mia 2 without any trouble. You have to click the piece into the Clarisonic a little differently but it is super easy.

Here is just a comparison of the back of the brushes. The pieces are extremely similar so the alternative one is able to fit to a Clarisonic.

Overall I think these brushes are a great deal, especially if you don't want to dump out about $30 every 3 months on a new facial cleaning brush for your Clarisonic. They are a lot softer and don't rub your face as hard as the originals, thus causing less exfoliation. I do think that these brushes are extremely necessary in getting off any extra dirt or makeup that I have on my face at the end of the day. I'm not sure if I am the only one, but I always find it gratifying when I see dirt or makeup on my brush after washing my face. It lets me know that my Clarisonic is working. If I had decided not to wash my face with it then all that extra grim would still be stuck on my face- gross!
